Strategic Global Supply Chain Executive (In Vitro Diagnostic Testing)

Location: Sittingbourne, Kent
Full Time: 37.5 hours/week
Salary: 24-29 K per annum depending on experience

An exciting opportunity is available in a rapidly growing Biotechnology company for an experienced Strategic Global Supply Executive with a proven track record sourcing biological materials at for a scientific company. We are looking for someone with a passion for science, drive to grow supply chain, source quality materials, ability to get things done and good commercial sense.


  • Acting as the single point of contact dealing with the strategic raw material suppliers 
  • Ensuring that all necessary information for raw material specifications are obtained from the suppliers and entered into the system as needed 
  • Maintaining the materials database as needed 
  • Setting target stock and replenish as needed as well as managing and rotating stock 
  • Liaising with Lab Manager to ensure that production plans are aligned with the monthly supply plan 
  • Driving transportation costs down for the goods coming from suppliers by ensuring proper mode of transportation is used and orders are consolidated 
  • Liaising with production department to ensure adequate processing of the materials 
  • Reviewing historical sales trends to help develop forecasts and monitor results  
  • Working with Sales, Marketing and Customer Support to understand future demand for the materials 
  • Utilizing six sigma tools to drive continuous improvement 
  • Setting and managing annual materials budget 
  • Any other duties as requested by the Managing Director to ensure smooth running of the company  

Person Description: 

  • Proven track record in life sciences in administrating supply chain 
  • Proficient in managing suppliers, negotiating contracts and working on supplier development agreements 
  • Broad knowledge of multiple disciplines including: Marketing, Sales, Quality, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Customer Service and Finance
  • Organised, structured and methodical
  • Ability to work in a fast pace environment
